The Faculty of Educational Sciences at Goethe-University Frankfurt welcomes applications for the following tenure track position initially available for 5 years:

The successful candidate is required to demonstrate proficiency in the field of general Educational Science, both in research and teaching. The theoretical and empirical study on Islamic Religious Pedagogy and Didactics of Islamic Religious Education is central to this professorship.
In particular, the successful candidate is expected to develop an academic curriculum for Islamic Religious Pedagogy and Didactics of Islamic Religious Education as well as cooperation with the Center for Islamic Studies.

The successful candidate is required to have excellent qualification in research and teaching.
Teaching assignments address students in teacher training courses for the various types of secondary schools (in the German school system differentiated in "Hauptschule", "Realschule" and "Gymnasium"). Since he/she will be involved in teacher training, experience in teaching at schools as well as novel ideas regarding the communication of professional knowledge at schools is expected.

Candidates should have a university degree in Islamic Theology or Islamic Science, a Ph.D. degree and further scientific experience in the field of Islamic and educational research. Excellent mastery of the German and Arab language is a mandatory prerequisite and the successful candidate is also required to have mastered other languages which are important for the scientific field.

The designated salary for the position is based on "W2" on the German university scale or equivalent.
