Professorship in Inorganic Chemistry
(W 2/W 3; the level of appointment will be commensurate with the nominee's qualification)
The successful applicant will be required to cover the area named above in teaching and research.
Appointment requirements am governed by article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz). The successful candidate will have an outstanding track record of research and teaching in inorganic chemistry, preferably with a strong international component, focusing on the field of functional inorganic molecules. Applicants should have experience designing and teaching courses in inorganic chemistry independently, as well as acquiring funding for and carrying out sponsored research.
The appointee will be required to represent the discipline in its entirety within the Department's existing degree programs - in particular its bachelor's and bilingual master's programs in chemistry. She or he will need to collaborate closely with other colleagues working in various areas of research and complement their efforts to the best of her or his ability. It is expected that the successful candidate participate in the collaborative research center SFB 765 ("Multivalency as chemical organization and action principle"), the "Cluster of Excellence" Unifying Concepts in Catalysis, the Center for Supramolecular Interactions (CSI), or other existing joint research efforts in Berlin.
