Professorship for Engineering Geology (W3)

at the Institute for Applied Geosciences. The Institute for Applied Geosciences focuses on the topics Water – Energy – Environment. In relation to this we are currently setting up the interdisciplinary research and education laboratory HydroThermikum.

 

We are seeking an outstanding individual with an independent research profile that further strengthens our focus. The following research areas are of specific interest:

 

- Fluid-rock interactions
- Engineering geology of consolidated and unconsolidated rocks
- Reservoir characterization
- Geoscientific modeling

 

In addition, or as an alternative, a focus  on either carbon capture and storage (CCS), geothermal energy, deep drilling, or final storage would be an asset.

 

It is expected that the successful candidate contributes actively to our German and English Masters programs in which laboratory and field exercises play a decisive role.

 

The position is tenured with a remuneration package commensurate with experience and  qualifications, following the German "W-Besoldung". The regulations for employment are specified under §§ 61 and 62 HHG (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz). The Technische Universität Darmstadt intends to increase the number of female faculty members and encourages female candidates to apply. In case of equal qualifications severely disabled applicants will be given preference.
