The Medical Faculty of Ulm University and the University Medical Center Ulm invite applications for the position of a
Professor in Cardiac Surgery (W3)
as Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery.
The University Medical Center Ulm intends to form a new center for cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgery. We are also currently appointing the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine II (Cardiology) at the moment.
We expect an interdisciplinary approach in the development of cardiovascular research as well as in training and therapeutic concepts.
Candidates should have an extensive clinical experience in cardiac surgery. In addition, knowledge and experience in the fields of thoracic and vascular surgery as well as critical care medicine would be helpful. We expect a proven record of scientific excellence, extensive teaching experience, and a proven ability to acquire third party research funding.
Candidates must have a university degree in medicine, a doctoral degree and a board certification in Cardiac Surgery. Teaching obligations require the candidate to have a postdoctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation in German or comparable qualification). The major teaching language is German.
A separate contract will be signed with the University Medical Center Ulm concerning patient care.
