Professor
in Production Management Research
DTU Management Engineering*invites applications for a position as Professor in Production Management Research.
DTU Management Engineering combines technical and social science approaches to planning, innovation, and management in order to increase the utilization and value creation of engineering. As such, the department fulfills the role of a generic department offering knowledge to all technical domains at DTU. Presently, the department comprises more than 200 persons. The announced position is attached to the section for Operations Management.
Responsibilities and tasks
The professor will take on a leading role in developing research activities within production management research. DTU has decided to substantially strengthen and develop research within the field of production and service management by establishing an initiative on production management. The initiative includes an increase of the staff with several faculty members and PhD students within a 5-year period. The production management initiative aims at providing a strong applicable knowledge base for improving efficiency and effectiveness of production systems, developed in close contact with Danish and international industry. Equally important, the professorship shall contribute significantly to production management research at the highest international level. The professor is also expected to connect the new research initiative with related research within the department and the university, utilizing synergies and developing cross-disciplinary activities. In order to further developing new research areas, the professor will take a lead role in assuring research grants both from national as well as international sources. Also, the professor is expected to take a lead position in teaching and education at all levels.
Qualification requirements
Candidates must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an Associate Professorship. Moreover, candidates must document didactic/pedagogic training.
The candidate should have:
· A high level of scientific production at international level contributing to the further development of Operations Management
· Demonstrated proven and successful management of research groups
· Demonstrated proven and successful management of larger projects
· Proven successful collaboration with industry and relevant stakeholders
· Documented successful teaching experience at different levels
