Post-doctoral fellow position (3 years) in 3D cell culture
Job description
The Department of TissueRegeneration at the MIRA Institute for Biomedical Technology and Technical Medicine, University of Twente (tr.tnw.utwente.nl/) is dedicated to develop new strategies for the treatment of bone and cartilage defects, among other tissues. Our lab has developed in the past years high throughput screening (HTS) assays to evaluate cell-material interactions on different culturing substrates, and a library of 3D scaffolds with tailorable mechanical and physicochemical properties. In the further effort to exploit the potential of these technologies for stem cell applications, we are currently focusing in using these 3D porous biomaterials as cell culture systems and compare (stem) cell activity in 3D and 2D.
For this project we are looking for 1 post-doctoral fellow who will engage in the development and assessment of 3D scaffolds as cell culture systems by a number of imaging techniques, molecular, biochemical, and histological assays.
