EC SPRIDE – European Center for Security and Privacy by Design
The European Center for Security and Privacy by Design (EC SPRIDE) will supplement the existing IT security research in Darmstadt with its outstanding fundamental research, thereby helping to round off the research profile in Darmstadt. In addition to this fundamental research, the Center will also significantly influence the practical activities.
PhD Candidates (12 openings) and Post Docs (4 openings)
The Department of Computer Science at Technische Universität Darmstadt and the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology (Fraunhofer SIT) are establishing the European Center for Security and Privacy by Design (EC SPRIDE), which will be a new research institution working in the areas of information software security and privacy.
We are looking for talented and motivated PhD Candidates (12 openings) and Post Docs (4 openings).
We are specifically seeking applicants in the following research areas:
Security and privacy in cloud computing
Security and privacy in cyber-physical systems
Web 2.0 privacy
Enterprise privacy management and new notions of privacy
Systematic security testing and hardening of software and hardware
Static program analysis
Security related programming models
Systematic and formal support for security best practices and secure coding guidelines
Provably secure cryptographic algorithms, primitives, and protocols
The positions of EC SPRIDE are funded by the German Ministry of Science and Education. EC SPRIDE views security and data protection as an integral part of the software and hardware development process. “Think about IT Security from the very beginning“ is the guiding principle of EC SPRIDE.
The positions offer term employment initially ending on September 30th, 2015, according to the projected first phase of EC SPRIDE. Employment may be extended upon a successful evaluation beyond the initial 4 years.
The Technische Universität Darmstadt und Fraunhofer SIT intend to increase the number of female scientists and encourage female candidates to apply. In case of equal qualifications applicants with a degree of disability of at least 50 or equal will be given preference. One opening is reserved for women only.
