Ph.D.position available

at the Max-Planck-Institute of Experimental Medicine, Göttingen,

Ph.D. position available in Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology group at MPI in spring 2010 (starting date flexible). The research focuses on how the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS) controls central nervous system development and how failure of the UPS contributes to neurodegenerative diseases. The successful candidate is exposed to a variety of techniques ranging from molecular biology and biochemistry to in vitro and in vivo assays and mouse models. The position is open to highly motivated candidates who hold a masters or equivalent degree (preferentially) in neurobiology, who enjoy working in a team, and who have good communication skills (in English).

The position is initially available for two years with a possible extension to three years.
