Junior Group Leader Position (E15)

The mission of the Cologne Excellence Cluster on Cellular Stress Responses in Ageing-Associated Diseases (CECAD) is to unravel the common molecular mechanisms underlying ageing and ageing-associated diseases with the longer-term objective of developing novel therapeutic interventions. CECAD is a unique research venture bringing together researchers at the University of Cologne with those at the Max Planck Institutes for the Biology of Ageing and Neurological Research and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE). CECAD started in 2007 and just recently received an extension of funding within the German Excellence Initiative.
We seek a talented, dynamic, independent and motivated scientist early in his/her career to establish a junior research group at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing. The successful candidate will develop an independent research programme with an attractive start-up package and access to excellent scientific facilities. Applicants should have an outstanding scientific track record with clear evidence of leadership, and a strong interest in one or more aspects of the biology of ageing. Applications from individuals with expertise in mass spectrometry/proteomics are particularly encouraged.
