Junior group leader in Microbiology

A junior group leader position in Microbiology is available in the lab of Prof. Dr. Kirsten Jung, Microbiology at the Biocenter of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU). The position is funded by the LMU (A13, „Akademische/r Rat/Rätin auf Zeit“) for 3 years with a possible extension to 6 years. Candidates should have a PhD in biology or biochemistry with a strong background in molecular biology and microscopy. The project focuses on cellular communication and phenotypic heterogeneity in bacterial populations. The successful candidate is expected to participate in the current project and to establish an independent research program. The successful candidate is further expected to teach in the BSc. and MSc. programs in Microbiology. The lab is embedded in an excellent research environment (excellence cluster CiPSM), and information on current projects is available at http://www.mikrobiologie.biologie.uni-muenchen.de.
