Independent Junior Research Group Lea­der (W1) with tenure track option in the area of Synthetic Biology of Signalling Processes

We are looking for a scientist with strong experi­ence and international reputation in the emerging field of synthetic strategies in biology and signa­ling science. The future research should optimally focus on the targeted evolution and rational de­sign of signal-sensing and -transducing proteins for the synthetic construction of novel or the re­programming and reconstruction of natural signa­ling cascades.

Close interactions and cooperations within the bioss Research Center, the Faculty of Medicine as well as with the various local collaborative re­search centers (SFBs 592, 620 and 746; FRISYS) and the Department of Microsystems Engineering would be appreciated. The pro­fessor will be a member of the Faculty of Biology and will have teaching obligations in biochemistry and participate in the implementation of a synthe­tic biology teaching concept.

The initial appointment will start as soon as pos­sible and be for four years. After successful eva­luation the appointment can be extended to six years. A tenure decision will be made before the last year.
