The Bavarian State Ministry of Sciences, Research and the Arts establishes - within the framework of the Elite Network of Bavaria - up to
3 new International Junior Research Groups specializing in the humanities or economics
at Bavarian universities starting in 2013. The research projects should be
embedded in the current topics of the respective Elite Graduate Programs
or the International Doctorate Programs in the Elite Network of Bavaria and
complement them.
The International Junior Research Groups, selected in a competitive twostep
process, will be funded over a period of 5 years with one position for
the head of the research group (TVL-E 14 or E-15), up to two additional
positions (TVL-E 13) and an attractive funding allocation.
Prerequisites for a successful application are scientific excellence and an
innovative and original research proposal at the frontier of knowledge in the
respective subject field.
An application is possible after the consultation with scientists involved in
the current Elite Graduate Programs or the International Doctorate Programs
in the Elite Network of Bavaria. Eligible applicants are suitably qualified
people from Germany or abroad who completed their doctoral studies
two to five years ago and who have not been working at the host institution
so far or preferably will not work there in the two years before the start of
the research groups.
Draft proposals must be submitted to the co-ordination office of the Elite
Network of Bavaria by 11 April 2012. After a positive assessment by an expert
review panel, the office will ask for proposals.
