A NOSE FOR MARKET GAPS

New study courses and new music colours at the HfM Detmold

New study courses and new music colours

New study courses

An aspect of market orientation is provided in the many newly created study courses at the HfM Detmold: The Hochschule has literally set trends with the study course music transmission / concert pedagogy or music management. The graduates of this Master post graduate course are already active in leading positions - for example in a renowned music association in Vienna, in Salzburg in concert pedagogy projects of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, in the education programme of Basel, in the Norddeutscher Rundfunk (North German Broadcasting), in Munich at the Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bavarian Broadcasting), as well as the Gasteig and the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf.

Career management

Through the newly built career centre, the HfM intends to offer its students an early orientation for their future professional fields of activity and for the demands of career planning by offering a close content and practical personal accompaniment.

New music colours

The HfM puts special emphasis on practice related content. This can be seen in the many ensembles that have emerged from the university and which offer idealistic and materialistic foundations for many students after the completion of their study course. A particularly popular example is the "ensemble vinorosso", a chamber music formation, which came into existence as a result of a student's own initiative who had discovered a market gap for themselves: The 25 members from countries all over the world (Bulgaria, Chile, Germany, England, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Macedonia, Switzerland, Spain and Turkey, and many more) are mostly students or ex students of the Detmold HfM, and they have managed to develop into an internationally popular ensemble. "Vinorosso" offers a particularly stirring form of world music, mixed with chamber music of the highest level and presents oriental music. Gigs at renowned stages (in 2008, amongst others, at the Festspielhaus Baden Baden) and an extended China tour pay tribute to the intoxicating quality of the ensemble: www.ensemble-vinorosso.de
