The collection of Organs of the University of Music
The collection of organs is unparalleled throughout the world. In addition to nine types of organs from different periods, it features a large "Rieger organ" (with 5761 pipes and 81 stops) in the concert hall. Blending French and German sound ideals, it is a particularly versatile concert instrument.
The whole world is a stage: Wilhelma Theater
The University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart is Germany's only school of drama that has its own learning theater, the Wilhelma Theater (350 seats). Built in 1839 in neo-classical style, the former summer theater of the court of Württemberg is a jewel of a building. Nowadays it is exclusively used by the Performing Arts departments: Drama, Opera, Puppet Theater and Speech Training.

The University of Music fosters cooperation with numerous international institutions. More than 30 Erasmus partner universities bring around 50 exchange students to Stuttgart; official partner universities are located in Eastern and Southern Europe as well as in the Far East and South Africa.
Outstanding Ensembles and Facilities of the University
The University of Music features a number of project-oriented ensembles, such as the Percussion Ensemble Stuttgart, the vocal ensemble CIRCUS MUSICUS, the woodwind ensemble Stuttgarter Bläserakademie, City Brass Stuttgart, the Class of Contemporary Music, Stirling Ensemble, as well as the ensemble v.act - Contemporary Vocal Music and the studio gesprochenes wort (speech class), both of which produce interdisciplinary dramatic projects.
The Studio für Alte Musik offers a stage for historical performances and interdisciplinary commitment to early music.
The Studio for Electronic Music is equipped with state-of-the-art technology as well as the professional recording studio. With more than 110.000 volumes, the University of Music's library ranks among the largest libraries of its kind in Germany. The University of Music and Performing Arts, the University of Applied Sciences-"Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart" and other universities in the area jointly run the radio station Hochschulradio Stuttgart HoRadS, which frequently broadcasts concert recordings, lectures and productions on the wave lengths of 99,2.
